The recruitment phase of the MaGiCAD study is now complete. On 21 December 2005 Caryl Barnard recruited the final MaGiCAD patient. The recruitment phase of the study therefore took approximately 4 years and 1 month to complete. During that time we recruited 1234 patients into the study and 100 of their partners. Many thanks to all of those who helped make this study a success, including the patients and partners of the patients who took part in the study and the staff at Papworth Hospital who were instrumental in the smooth running of the study. Thanks also to the staff (past and present) directly involved in the MaGiCAD study:

The next phase of the study is the analysis of the samples. Several large-scale multiplex analyses are in progress or in the planning stage. The care and attention to detail that has been the hallmark of the study should soon bring its rewards!
